A new name over the door.
Same unit, same spot in Freeport Shopmall on Pit Lane, new independent ownership. The pharmacy you already knew, with the decisions now made in the shop.
A fresh chapter, not a new shop.
Until 1 July 2026 this was a Well branch, part of the Bestway group. On that day it reopened as Talke Pharmacy: the same unit in Freeport Shopmall, on Pit Lane, now independently owned.
That is the only change we would ask you to notice. If you have been coming here for years, nothing about getting to us is different. If you are new to it, we are the chemist inside the Shopmall, and you do not need an appointment to walk in and ask us something.
We are not going to dress this up as a grand history. The shop is what it is: a community pharmacy in Talke Pits with a new name over the door and the same job to do.
Decisions get made at the counter.
Being independent means the person you are speaking to can usually make the decision. There is no head office to write to and no regional manager to wait on. If we can help you today, we will say so and get on with it. If we cannot, we will tell you plainly and point you at whoever can.
It also means the small things are ours to sort out: chasing a repeat prescription that has not landed, or taking the time to go through a new medicine properly instead of handing over a bag and hoping.
Registration and regulation.
Every pharmacy in Great Britain has to be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and every registered pharmacy has a superintendent pharmacist who is accountable for how it is run. Ours is Gloria Lai, GPhC registration number 2207949, and our premises registration number is 1092979. Both are displayed in the pharmacy itself as well as here.
The pharmacy is owned and operated by Bower Healthcare Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16679345. Our NHS pharmacy code is FXQ20.
