What do you need?
Would you rather talk to someone? Ring 01782 508214 and we will sort a time on the phone.
What to have ready.
- Which service it is about.
- Your name, date of birth and the surgery you are registered with.
- Anything you already take, including things bought off the shelf.
- Any allergies, or a reaction you have had before.
- Rough dates if it is about travel.
- Any NHS letter or text you have been sent.
None of it is essential. Book anyway, or ring, and we will work it out with you.
What needs an appointment.
Some of what we do needs a time set aside and a room. Plenty of it does not. This is which is which.
NHS prescriptions
No appointment needed.
Nominate us once and your repeat prescriptions come here automatically. Collect at the counter whenever we are open. Ring first if you want to check something is ready before you travel.

Walk in or book, both work.
You can call in and ask on the day. If you are asking about something less common it may need ordering in, so a quick ring first saves you a wasted trip. Bring any NHS letter or text, and wear a sleeve you can push up.

Ring as soon as the trip is booked.
Ideally six to eight weeks before you fly, because some courses run over several weeks and a few need finishing a fortnight before you travel. Have your destinations, your dates and roughly what you have had before to hand.

By appointment.
The first appointment is a full consultation in private: questions about your health and what you already take, then height, weight and blood pressure, then an honest answer about whether this is the right route for you. Ask what it costs when you ring.

Quick questions need no appointment.
For anything that needs the consultation room, ring and we will agree a time. You do not need the medical words, just tell us what the problem is and we will say whether we can help here.

Microsuction, not bookable yet.
The microsuction machine is on order, so we are not taking bookings for it yet. Ring us anyway if an ear has gone blocked: a pharmacist can look at it, tell you whether it is wax at all, and point you to the right place in the meantime.

Booking online is there because it is quicker for most people, not because we would rather not talk to you. If you would sooner have a word with someone who can see the diary and answer a question at the same time, ring us and we will sort it.
Plenty of what we do needs no appointment at all. The list further down says which.

Bank holidaysClosed
We are open Monday to Saturday, and closed on Sundays and bank holidays. The dispensary keeps the same hours as the shop, so if we are open you can collect a prescription.
If you cannot get through, it usually means we are with someone at the counter. Try again in a few minutes, or call in and ask.
