Nominate us and your NHS repeat prescriptions come straight to Pit Lane, ready to collect.
Nearly every NHS prescription in England is now sent electronically. Your GP signs it, it travels down the NHS Electronic Prescription Service and lands with the pharmacy you have nominated. Nominate us and there is no paper to carry.
We are the same shop in Freeport Shopmall, independently owned since July 2026. Nomination covers NHS prescriptions only, so for anything else ask about our private health services.

You tell us, or tell your surgery
Ring 01782 508214, ask at the counter, or tell your GP surgery. Whichever you pick, it only needs doing once.
Your surgery sends it to us
From then on, each prescription your GP signs arrives electronically. Nothing is posted and nothing waits at reception.
We get it ready
We dispense it and put it aside under your name. If anything needs ordering in, we will say when to come back.
You collect from Pit Lane
Come to the counter with the name and address of the person the medicine is for. A relative or neighbour can collect instead.

Before you set off.
We are open Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays and bank holidays. The dispensary keeps the same hours as the shop.
What we cannot promise is that a particular medicine is on the shelf. Stock moves daily and some items have to be ordered in.

How do I nominate Talke Pharmacy?
Three ways, all ending in the same place. Ring {phone} and we will set it up on the NHS system while you are on the phone, ask at the counter next time you are in, or tell your GP surgery you want Talke Pharmacy in Talke Pits. There is no form and nothing to bring.
Does nomination cost anything?
No. Nominating is free and it does not change what you pay for the medicine: the standard NHS charge is the same here as anywhere else in England. If you are exempt, or hold a prepayment certificate, that carries on as before.
Can I change my nomination later?
Yes, whenever you like, and you do not have to give a reason. Tell another pharmacy or your GP surgery and it moves. One thing worth knowing: a prescription already sent electronically has to be collected there, or cancelled by your surgery, before anywhere else can dispense it.
What do I do with old or unused medicines?
Bring them back to us rather than putting them in the bin or down the sink. That includes inhalers, which we take for safe disposal free of charge and without an appointment. It is one of the things a pharmacy is here for.
What is the New Medicine Service?
A free NHS service for people starting a medicine for certain long term conditions. A pharmacist talks it through when you start, then follows up a couple of weeks later to see how you are getting on. Ring and ask whether what you have been prescribed qualifies.
Do you do repeat prescriptions?
Yes, and they are most of what we do. Order your repeat the way you already do, through your surgery or the NHS App. Once we are your nominated pharmacy, each issue comes to us as your GP signs it. Allow a few days, and ring {phone} to check it is ready before you travel.
Where our patients come from.
You will find us on Pit Lane in Talke Pits, inside Freeport Shopmall. Most people walk in from Talke Pits and Talke, and we are a short drive from Kidsgrove, Butt Lane, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the rest of Stoke-on-Trent.
